Domaine Gris Des Bauries
Domaine Gris des Bauries is located in Taulignan, a small and picturesque medieval village and was created in 2005 by Patrick, a highly reputed mason, madly in love with the neighbouring vines and with Gina, the baker’s daughter. The baker had given up his oven for a vineyard and on retirement, passed on his old Grenaches to his son-in-law. Fortunately, Patrick’s father, a winegrower, had instilled in him a great respect for the vines. Claire-Lise and Charles were Patrick’s clients and friends; he had built them a vast wine cellar and knew of their appreciation and passion for great wines, so they teamed up to make wine together. They share an unbounded ambition to make the best wine that can be made in this corner of Drôme Provençale. Each carries on with his or her job and judging from the wine, it works beautifully. Special attention and care are given in order to produce top quality grapes, including frequent plowing, strict pruning during the growing season and late harvests. Additionally, they have started official conversion to organic.
