The Hundertgulden's 'baby brother' is produced from the young Riesling vines growing in the shell limestone soils of this top vineyard. The palate balances rich flavors of dried apricots and spice with a concentrated structure and salty minerality. The steely yet sophisticated character of the wine can be attributed to the influence of the coral reefs that made up the soil during the Tertiary period millions of years ago. The label shows a typical fossil from that age to best represent both the wine's nature and origins.
