Antonutti

Founded by Ignacio Antonutti in 1921, Casa Vinicola Antonutti is one of Friuli's top wineries. The winery is still family run, with Ignacio's Grand-daughter Adrianna, her husband Lino and their children Catherina and Nicola all involved in the family business of wine. The winery includes a historic site in Colloredo di Prato, where tradition and innovation go hand in hand and vineyards in Barbeno, located in the heart of the ‘Grave’ of Friuli.  The vineyards located on the broad Grave del Friuli plain are on poor stony soil that is ideal for vines to flourish. The wines of the grave are characteristic of the soil from which they come: fresh, minerally with fragrant aromas. This is one of Italy’s finest areas for the production of white wines particularly the local Friulano, Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon varieties. Antonutti’s wines demonstrate the terroir of Friuli and testify to the tenacity of the family whose wine making goes back nearly a century.

The Antonutti line of wines is testimony of the great care that is taken in the selection of the grapes. Both white and red wines, derived from both native and international varietals, are vinified in stainless steel tanks. The whites are characterised by their freshness and elegance, while the reds, aged in large oak barrels, reveal personality and structure. Balances flavours reveal wines that are extremely enjoyable.
