Closerie Des Alisiers
Stéphane Brocard is a branché thirty-something Chablisien who found his family’s wine business becoming crowded when working alongside his brother and sister-in-law and sister and brother-in-law. An intimate knowledge of Burgundy and a hankering to do his own thing led him to set up a boutique négociant business contracting in small parcels of carefully selected grapes, as well as investing in a precious plot of Pommard, for which he has high aspirations.
CLOSERIE DES ALISIERS
A note from Stephane Brocard......
I decided to start my own wine activity as did my father and also my father before myself. I wanted to leave a dover nest for a more tougher nest. So I established in the small village of Marsannay in Cote de Nuits, as a negociant and wine distributor. Why Closerie des Alisiers? Alisiers is my house location. Alisiers is a fruit from Burgundy. Closerie means: surrounding this location. I purchase the grapes to different winemaker and make the wines at their cellar and bottle it there. I started a tiny but strong relationship with these wine producers. I look for fruity and fresh wines. My wines spent between 10 and 15 months in barrels but only 20% new oak.
